Everything we do and hope to accomplish comes through following the example of Jesus Christ. We believe it is our mission to welcome people into the life of the church and into faith without reservation. We want EVERYONE to feel welcome and loved, both by the Body of Christ and by God. There is a place for you here.
We also believe that there is more to life in Christ than just worshiping together on Sunday morning; we are called to grow through personal and spiritual transformation. The church word for this is "discipleship" or "sanctification." But it really comes down to living out our faith through loving God and loving others in our day-to-day lives. We live out our faith through our choices, our work, our relationships, and every area of our lives, including Sunday mornings. In the church, we do this by responding to God's love for us with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
Building Intentional Relationships
Scripture calls us into relationship with one another—from calls to love our neighbor to the creation of the Church—but often we find ourselves lonely even in a crowd of people. Monte Sano United Methodist Church often does a good job of making people feel welcome initially—but we dream of more. Deep, meaningful, and intentional relationships are our goal. We want to provide the time and space for people to get to know one another beyond superficial pleasantries and Southern hospitality.
Loving Beyond the Walls
Loving our neighbor is bigger than loving people we live near or go to church with. How we reach out to and serve our brothers and sisters in need is a big part of that command! Mission and outreach have long been a part of Monte Sano United Methodist Church’s identity, but we know we can do more. As we move into the future, we will be offering more opportunities than ever to reach out to those in need, our community, and the world.
Space to Grow in Faith and Love
As Monte Sano United Methodist Church grow in membership and community impact, we will need additional space. This includes space for new Sunday school classes, small groups, ministries, and activities.
