Lay Leadership at Monte Sano United Methodist

United Methodist congregations are led by an appointed pastor and a number of committees working together to make decisions about the future of the church.  The three most integral committees in the church are the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), the Finance Committee, and the Trustees Committee.  These, along with other teams and committees, report their activities to the church at large through Church Council meetings.  

Church Council
What does the Church Council do? The Church Council is meeting of the leadership of the church, including committee/team chairpersons and staff. At Church Council reports are heard from each area of ministry in the church.

Staff-Parish Relations Committee
What does the SPRC do? The SPRC serves as the “human resources” committee of the church. If you have questions, concerns about, or suggestions for a church staff member, including the pastor, you can contact any member of the SPRC.

Trustees Committee
What does the Trustees Committee do? The Trustees are in charge of maintaining, improving, and repairing all church property. This includes the buildings and the church grounds.

Finance Committee
What does the Finance Committee do? The Finance Committee creates the annual budget for the church and monitors the monthly income and expenses of the church.
