Help Us Raise $70,000 to Eliminate our Debt

2027 is Monte Sano United Methodist church’s 70th Anniversary! As we look forward to that momentous anniversary, we also look back our history and celebrate how far we have come. God has blessed us richly with an amazing church family and a beautiful setting in which to worship and serve. We give thanks for all those who gave so much of their time, talents, and gifts to get us to this point.

-In 1957, Monte Sano Methodist Church was organized at Union Chapel, “The Little White Church” that once stood on the corner of Nolen and Monte Sano Boulevard.
-Our current property was purchased in 1961 and the last service at Union Chapel was held in 1962.
-The church’s first church building was completed in 1962, followed by the Administration and Youth Building in 1967.

-In 2012, the church renovated its existing building and built the new Sanctuary we currently worship in. -Along the way, new holy spaces were created on the grounds with the construction of the Labyrinth in 2008 and the Columbarium in 2017.

As we approach our 70th anniversary, we are also on the precipice of retiring our church debt. An initial loan of $2.1 million has been reduced to $167,000 (as of August 2026). In May of 2027, when our loan will need to be renewed, our remaining debt will be just $70,000!

To celebrate our 70th Anniversary as a church, I want to challenge our church family to pledge to pay off the remaining $70,0000 our debt by May so we do not need to renew our loan! You are invited to join us in this effort by contributing to our “70 for 70 Capital Campaign.”
