Children's Ministry
Children's Ministry is for children from 3 years old to 6th Grade. This ministry is an opportunity for our preschool and elementary aged children to grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ in a fun, creative environment. We want each child to know they are loved and valuable.
SUNDAY MORNINGS Sunday School begins at 10:00 am.
Children then divide into their age level Sunday School classes. They enjoy a time of fellowship, learning, and creativity during the Sunday School Hour.
MUSIC At various points in the year, our children offer song sin worship. During these times, the first 15 minutes of Sunday School is spent learning and practicing music.
-Vivienne Atkins, our Choir Director, leads our Monte Sano Carolers (children in 2nd through 6th Grade) in a time of music for the first 15 minutes of the hour. -Pat McMillion leads our Cherub Choir (Pre-K through 1st Grade).
Special Activities
Throughout the year, we have lots of special activities for kids! These include our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, special Christmas activities, and more. Along with these we offer special family events in the summer months
Safe Sanctuaries Child Protection Policy
Monte Sano United Methodist Church strives to provide the safest environment possible for children to learn and grow in. The church and all volunteers follow a child protection policy that makes sure all children are well cared for.
If you would like to review the full Safe Sanctuaries Policy, it is available in the church office.
Nursery
Monte Sano UMC loves children, and we want to provide the best possible experience for families with young children. The church nursery is for children 6 weeks to three years old. You are, of course, welcome to keep your child with you in worship, but we offer the nursery as a place where your child can be loved and cared for while you worship. When you visit the church nursery for the first time, you will be asked to fill out a “Nursery Visitor Form.” This form helps our wonderful nursery staff to offer the best possible care for your child. It includes feeding instructions, contact information, and who your child can and cannot be released to.
For all children using the nursery, we ask that they come with a clearly marked diaper bag supplied with at least 2 diapers, change of clothes, and if needed, a filled bottle. Please be sure to clearly label your child’s diaper bag, bottle/sippy cup, and other special items.
For the health and safety of all, we kindly ask that children who have experienced the following in the past 24 hours not be brought to the nursery:
1. Fever 2. Vomiting or Diarrhea 3. Persistent runny nose 4. Persistent cough 5. Open skin Infection 6. Pink eye
